The Old Stone House Exhibit consists of a display of the Old Stone House model, a South Orange Time Line, architectural sketches, maps from 1877 and 1904 with indications of all the South Orange buildings that are on the State and National Historic Registers. The exhibit will tell the story of the house and its families reflecting the history of South Orange and the vicinity from the original purchase from the Lenape Native Americans in 1666 to the present day. The Exhibit will be at the South Orange Library.
The opening reception from 3 to 5 p.m. will include a lecture on Saturday, conducted by Carol Reznikoff, who is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of architectural history at the Pratt Institute in New York. Carol will hold a follow- up evening lecture at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Support makes S.O. great place to live

To the Editor: On behalf of the president and members of the South Orange Historical and Preservation Society, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to the residents of South Orange, Seton Hall University, MAIN Street South Orange and the members of the MLK Club of the South Orange Middle School.

Our ability to participate and support the organizations like Main Street in Celebrate South Orange in July demonstrated the passion residents and businesses have for this town.

Our recent participation in the Seton Hall Family Appreciation Day Parade has bought home to our members the real world experience and joy the people of this town have for each other. We really appreciate the good wishes and many waves we received from the townspeople who came out and cheered us on as we paraded through town.

It is this genuine support and appreciation along with the togetherness that makes South Orange such a great place to live.

Karen Hoare SOHPS Community Relations, Education and PR Chair
