Eugene V. Kelly
Carriage House
The Bishop's House(red brick Victorian on Seton Hall University
campus)
"The house in question was
originally the summer home of New York millionaire banker Eugene
V. Kelly in the late 1800's. For more than 50 years it served
as the official residence of the Bishop of Newark, located on a
corner of the present Seton Hall campus. The entire estate
consisted of four buildings - the manor, two smaller houses and
a carriage house. The main house itself was razed about 1958,
but the University art department thinks it may have been
architecturally important enough to merit recovery of facts
concerning it."
