Historical Society offers $1,000
scholarship

The South Orange Historical and Preservation Society will award a $1,000
scholarship to the Columbia High School senior who best expresses his
or her understanding of South Orange history. The scholarship, open to
South Orange residents only, will ask students to write an essay of
2,500 words or more about the South Orange train station on Sloan
Street.
Eligibility criteria are available through Chris Preston, the social
studies supervisor at the high school.
The application deadline is May 28 at 3:30 p.m.
The scholarship will be presented at the senior
awards night program June 4 at 7 p.m.
