Subject: Old Stone House Advisory Task Force kickoff

All,

Congratulations on being appointed to be a member (or alternate) on the Old Stone House Advisory Task Force.

As you know, we have a lot of work to do and only a short timeframe in which to come up with recommendations to present to the Board of Trustees on options for the Old Stone House.

As a result, I would like to setup a kickoff meeting for this Task Force as early as next week, if possible. I know that Summertime is difficult, but I m hoping we can get a quorum to have our initial kickoff meeting.

Can you each please let me know your availability for next Monday or Tuesday evening at 7:30pm in Village Hall?

Thanks,
Michael

Subject: Old Stone House Advisory Task Force

Thanks for attending our recent Board of Trustees meeting, along with other SOHPS members and supporters. As I described during our discussion regarding the Old Stone House, the BoT would like for representatives of the SOHPS to work with the Village, the BoT, and other members of the community to study and assess options for the restoration, use, and maintenance of the Old Stone House, and make a recommendation to the Board of Trustees within 90 days.

The immediate goal is to establish an Old Stone House Advisory Task Force, comprised of Village Trustees, the Village Administrator, the Village Engineer, S.O. Historic Preservation Society representation, Montrose Historic Preservation District representation, and at-large resident representation. While the BoT will determine the number of representatives from each category, the expectation is that because of the obvious interest of SOHPS' membership, its representatives will represent and speak for SOHPS - a format consistent with other Village committees.

Importantly, while each representative will bring his/her own perspective to this long-studied, much debated subject, it's critical that all task force members approach the next three months with open minds and an earnest spirit of collaboration. In advance, thanks for your help with this.

Regards,

Doug
